Serial production of electric pickups Tesla Cybertruck should begin in 2023.
Tesla has introduced a new version of the Cybertruck electric pickup truck, which should be sent to mass production in 2023. The car was shown as part of a special event “Cyber Rodeo” organized at the new Giga Texas enterprise in Texas.
According to InsideEVs, the new car differs from the previously presented prototypes by the presence of traditional side mirrors, a wiper, as well as modified head optics with additional elements in the lower part of the body.
Plus, special cameras have been integrated into the body of the pickup truck, which will recognize the owner, after which the electronics will automatically open the doors when he approaches.
The very first version of the Tesla Cybertruck was introduced in November 2019, and its mass production was to begin before the end of 2021. Subsequently, Musk postponed the premiere of the pickup truck to the beginning of 2022, and in September it became known that its launch was postponed for at least one more year — the production of cars will start no earlier than 2023.
The pilot version of the car was severely criticized, including for its too primitive design. Subsequently, Musk promised to slightly change the appearance of the model before launching into the series, but not to revise it too radically.
The electric car will be offered in three main modifications: with one, two or three power units. The “junior” version of the model with one engine will be able to accelerate to “hundreds” in 6.5 seconds, while the “senior” three-engine version of the Tri Motor gains 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds. The claimed power reserve without recharging, depending on the modification, varies from 400 to 800 kilometers.
